Grilled Smoked Scallops With Citrus & Garlic Butter Sauce

Grilled Smoked Scallops With Citrus & Garlic Butter Sauce

Scallops wrapped in bacon are a perfectly delicious flavor combo. In our version, a citrus and garlic butter sauce makes for an over-the-top, fantastic summer recipe. Try it as an appetizer or with your favorite pasta. You won't be able to stop with just one! Enjoy!

Prep-time: 20-30 min

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8oz) package of Sugartown Smoked Scallops
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, one clove minced garlic
  • zest and juice of 1 orange
  • 1 Tbsp chopped parsley
  • pinch of salt
  • Skewers
  • 12 pieces of thinly sliced bacon

Bacon Wrap Scallops

1- Use ordinary bacon, as thick-cut bacon will take too long to crisp on the grill.

2- Turn all burners to high, cover, and heat grill until hot, about 15 minutes.

3- When wrapping the scallops, the bacon slice should fit around each scallop or zig zag bacon in between each scallop.

4- Cook until bacon is crispy and scallops are warmed through.

5- Drizzle with Citrus Sauce & enjoy!

Citrus Sauce

1- Start by melting butter over medium-low heat in a medium-sized pan.

2- Add a pinch of salt, one clove of minced garlic, and the zest and juice of one orange. Simmer for five minutes to meld the flavors.

3- Add the parsley towards the end.

4- Remove the pan from the heat and cover to keep warm until ready to use.

Make it a meal! Add the package of smoked sea scallops to the pan after melting butter in Step 1 of the Citrus Sauce recipe. Continue steps 2 - 4, then toss the scallops and sauce with freshly cooked pasta and enjoy.
